I know its been a long time since I’ve posted so I’m going to give you guys an update of what’s been going on in my life. The first big thing is that for the second year in a row I made it to the Spring Qualifier for golf! It gives me another chance to go to State and I am really hoping to make it this year. I am going to find as much time as I can over the winter to practice to make sure I can get in. I also made second-team all league with my teammates Taylor and Kennedy. As a team we were second in league and Kennedy made it straight to State! It was a great season and I can’t wait for spring and next season. Another big thing is I took part in our school’s production of Pinocchio! (Follow the link for some pictures:)). We partnered with the Enumclaw Schools Foundation to bring all of the elementary schools to us and put on a show for them. It was so much fun and I was so glad I was able to do it. I was also playing basketball during the play, so I had a lot going on and I was so glad that Mr. Miller, the drama director, was willing to work around my schedule to allow me to be a part of the production. The kids loved it and I got to see my brother during the day! It was so much fun and I can’t wait for the musical in the spring. The biggest thing that has happened though is that I applied and was selected to be an ambassador for Beat the Bridge 2018! I get to do all sorts of promotional events to promote Beat the Bridge and bring awareness to Type 1 Diabetes. It’a an amazing opportunity to build up my leadership experience and raise more awareness about Type 1 Diabetes which is what I aim to do. I want people to know what diabetes really is and how it affects everyone in some way, not just the person that has it. It’s a battle that involves a whole group of people and requires attention 24/7. I want people to know how to help and for people to know what they can to to help make a difference, and the only way I can do that is by doing more and more leadership activities, so I am really excited to have this bigger stage to spread the awareness I want to spread. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
